Our Causes

From sports to education, we open doors for youth to reach their potential.

Athletic Program & Equipment – Sponsorship & Subsidizing

In this program, we provide either partial or full funding towards athletic equipment for extracurricular sports activities through the school boards at either a grade school or high school level. This includes anything from a pair of basketball shoes to a full hockey package.

Additionally, for kids in the same age categories, we will take care of the same equipment needs as well as any costs associated for private double A and triple A leagues for any sport.

Housing Subsidy for Young Parents (Kids With Kids Program)

Parents, either single or with the other parent, ages 15-22, who are currently enrolled full time in school, with total household income less than $1,800/month.

Other conditions will apply (grades, type of income, total scenario) will receive partial subsidy on privatized housing. This means parents, who normally do not qualify for Regional Housing, or are currently on a wait list for available resources or vacancies will have the ability to have a portion of their rent covered through us.

Market rent in Niagara is $1450-1900 for decent 2 bedroom units, young parents are required to provide a private bedroom for the child to be in compliance with most Children’s Aid Society (CAS or “FACS”) rules. OW only provides $1100, for the most part to individuals with children and Child Tax Benefit maxes out around 1800, that leaves 350 per month for a young family to support their family, it is a recipe for failure.

Vocational Training

Our membership, companies that support the not for profit, will have the ability to take on interns from ages 16-19, and be compensated from the fund for taking on the responsibility of training the youth.

The youth, will have the ability, and access, to local small and medium sized businesses, and be paid for it. They will learn skills to develop potential career paths, not to mention getting access to a network that they otherwise would not have access to. This will hopefully show them that there are other paths in life.

Scholarships

Subject to certain criteria, the foundation will either provide full or partial scholarships for Private education facilities from grade 10-12 as well as scholarships and bursaries towards post secondary education.
