Growing up isn’t easy for any kid, and believe it or not there are levels of ease or difficulty depending on the relationships your family has, or the income your parents bring in. UYDF was inspired by the reality that more often than not a child’s future, and the difficulty attached to achieving in life, is tied to the opportunities available when we are young.

Some families are fortunate enough to ensure that their children want for nothing, have the ability to participate in any extracurricular they want, and choosing whether or not their son or daughter plays a sport in the summer does not take away from what other necessities the family may have to go without to make sure they can play.

This Foundation’s primary objective is to help children in our community have every opportunity to contribute, participate and grow regardless of whatever strain or struggle it would otherwise cause their family.

Whether it be new basketball shoes so they can, with confidence, join the basketball team or admission fees so that they can join a hockey league and develop their skills to the next level, the foundation will have a solution. The Foundation will also look to give our youth opportunities outside of sports to intern with local businesses, sometimes even on a paid basis, to increase their available experiences and skill set. UYDF is excited to bring a much needed connection between local businesses and our youth and make sure our children all get to play and succeed, with confidence and pride.
